From the Back of the Book

Allegra Spencer has been living a careful life. Her safe job as an accountant is bookended by going to church and the gym. Okay, sometimes the gym. Fine. She goes to church. And the coffee shop. She avoids risk at all cost, preferring to stay safe in her cozy condo. Until her accounting firm goes belly up and she's out of a job.

Tyler Hawk had a glorious career as a star NFL tight end. He retired on a high note and now lives a second dream of owning his own business and leading others on extreme outdoor adventures. But he needs help with his books—and his heart. When Allegra takes the job, sparks fly.

It’s a case of safety zone versus danger zone, and in their minds, never the two shall meet.

My Thoughts

I saw this book around the Christian fiction blog world quite a while ago and I've had it on my "TBR" list ever since. I finally read it and I'm glad I did.

I am one of the most unadventurous, "stay-in-the-safe-zone", dare I say fearful, people on this planet! I was so interested in reading about how someone like me could end up with someone who owns an extreme outdoor adventure company.

I thought the story was a little slow to start, however it picked up about halfway through. I enjoyed the romantic tension between Allegra and Tyler. I really liked that Allegra was paying for her sister's tuition - I thought that added a Cinderella-esque quality to the story which I loved. I could also really relate to Allegra because of the mistakes she made. There were times I laughed out loud while reading this book. At one point, Allegra was walking around her coffee table and calling it exercise!

I thought the resolution was very realistic. I was impressed with the explanation of why Allegra was fearful and why Tyler was so adventurous.

I am anxious to read Bo and Story's story and, as of the date of the writing, the author's web-site indicates that this is in the works. Yay!

If you like contemporary Christian fiction, I recommend this book!

    1. I'll be sure not to wait two years after Story & Bo's story is published to read it. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I started reading this and gave up about a quarter of the way in because it wasn't grabbing me. You've inspired me to give it another go :)

    1. I definitely thought it picked up mid-way through!
