About the Book

It’ll take a Christmas miracle to turn a grudging friendship into true love.

Baxter Reid returns to his hometown of Romance, eager to see his childhood crush. Unfortunately, Savannah hasn’t forgotten all the ways he used to tease her back then. He’s got his work cut out for him if he’s going to get a second chance.

When Savannah Miller learns her former arch enemy is back in town, she dreads running into him. Baxter is at the center of some of her most embarrassing childhood memories. She’s more than happy to avoid Baxter until he apologizes and suggests a truce. Now what is she supposed to do?

Only time will tell whether the spirit of Christmas in Romance is enough to transform a grudging relationship into true love.

My Thoughts

This was a sweet Christmas story that is definitely worth reading. It's part of a collection of Christmas stories that take place in the town of Romance, however each book can be read individually.

I liked Savannah and thought it was fun that she was dog-sitting for her parents' neighbors. Those neighbors happen to be the grand-parents of her childhood nemesis who has just moved back to town.

Baxter always liked Savannah when they were kids, but teased her to express that "like" and inadvertently hurt her feelings. He moved away when they were still kids and Savannah never got over how he treated her.

I'm not sure how often we get to talk to someone who teased us as kids after we become adults, but I think it's a great premise for a story! I enjoyed watching Savannah and Baxter reconcile. I also enjoyed being back in the small town of Romance.

If you like contemporary Christian Christmas stories, I recommend this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
