Review: Hope Your Heart Needs by Holley Gerth

Title: Hope Your Heart Needs
Author: Holley Gerth
Publication Date: September 2018
Pages: 256 (hardcover)

About the Book

You don't have to settle for "I'm fine."

Understanding God's character and how he loves us changed Holley Gerth's life in beautiful, powerful ways. She realized that the hope, joy, peace, and purpose we all long for can be found in his heart. Knowing who God is and the ways he cares for us empowers us to overcome the restlessness and stress we all tend to feel in this busy, overwhelming world.

Whether you're going through a hard time or simply dealing with the everyday challenges of life, you'll find encouragement, hope, and new strength on these pages. With Holley's help, you'll discover that "the God who scattered stars like diamonds across the velvet of the universe, the keeper of every sparrow, the maker of us all is inviting us to draw closer to him. . . . He is what we've been searching for all along."

My Thoughts

I have never read a book by Holley Gerth that I didn't love and Hope for Your Heart is no exception.

This book has 52 devotions which are each about five pages long. Each contains a scripture at the beginning and a prayer at the end. This book would be great for a quick devotion, for adding to your daily devotions, or for reading something "extra" during the day. The cover is so pretty and I enjoyed having it sit on my desk where I have my quiet times.

Whenever I read something by Holley Gerth, I feel like I have my own personal cheerleader. She weaves her own experiences into this book and talks about how she's grown to lean on God through those experiences.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a boost to their heart and a reminder that God loves them!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell. I was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
