I am so excited to start reading Christmas books and Christmas with the Cowboy was a great one to start with!

I liked the "friends becoming more" theme. I really enjoyed learning the history between Zach and Emma and I was cheering for them throughout the book. They had fantastic banter!

I liked Emma's independence and spunk. I was also impressed by how she remained positive no matter what life was throwing at her. I was a fan of Zach as soon as I read the scene where he was helping one of the kids at the ranch learn to ride a horse. Zach used his past to reach the young boy and it melted my heart. Two-year-old twins, Rachel and "Bit", were adorable additions to the story.

Speaking of heart melting...one of the most romantic lines I've read in quite some time can be found on page 161: "Now that he stood in the middle of her house like a knight in flannel armor, holding her children and even praying, she gave up all pretense."

This is the third book in the Big Heart Ranch series, but can easily be read as a stand alone.

If you like contemporary Christian fiction, I highly recommend this book! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. A positive review was not required. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love reading a novel that inspires me. I came away with two nuggets of inspiration from this book.

The first was from a scene where Zach was talking with one of the children, Mick, at the ranch who was comparing himself to his brother. Mick felt like he was less than his brother because he wasn't as "book smart" as his brother was. I loved how Zach explained that God made us all different and that we shouldn't compare ourselves to others.

I loved the scene where Emma and her sister Lucy are talking and Lucy reminds Emma that every day we should be asking the Lord what He has on the agenda for us today. What a great reminder!
