First Line Friday - August 24, 2018

Welcome to First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books!

Today I'm sharing the first line from A Heart Restored by Elizabeth Maddrey. I finished it this week and IT...WAS...WONDERFUL! I am just loving this author's Peacock Hill series! A Heart Restored is book one in the series. You can read my review of book three, A Heart Realigned, here

"'You did what?.'"

Now it's your turn! Share the first line of the book closest to you in the comments below, then head over to Hoarding Books to see who else is sharing first lines on their blogs today.

  2. Happy Friday!😎
My first lines come from a book I'm reading shortly, Living in Harmony by Mary Ellis.

The rain’s finally stopped. We’re late. I’d better get you home before your father comes looking for us carrying his squirrel rifle—thunderstorm or no.”

“Hmm,” replied Amy. John’s attempt at humor fell short of its mark.

Have a relaxing weekend and happy reading!😊

  4. Sweet cover! The book I'm sharing on my blog is "His Bluestocking Bride" by Sally Britton. Here, I will share the first line from Chapter 17. "Tucked up in her favorite chair by the library fire, Ellen turned the page in an interesting volume on the subject of astronomy." May you be able to fully enjoy your weekend!

  5. I love the covers on these books! I'll have to check out this series - I'm a bit behind on my reading.

I’m sharing from Formula of Deception by Carrie Stuart Parks on my blog. It's a standalone thriller, not part of her Gwen Marcey series, and it's set in Alaska - always a great start! I don't have a line to share here because I've been editing this week, not reading, and the first line might change. I'll be sharing it just as soon as I get permission from the author :)

  8. I’m sharing lines from A.L. Jackson’s upcoming release More of You on my blog today. It’s a second chance romance.

Here, I’ll be sharing lines from My Kinda Forever by Lacey Black.

“It’s a Summer sister tradition that on the first Saturday of each month, the six of us get together.  We take turns picking the location or activity, anything from margaritas and a movie to wine and painting classes at the small uptown gallery.  One thing, though, is as certain as the sun rising over the Chesapeake Bay every morning: there will be alcohol  involved. “

    Happy Reading!

  9. I'm featuring my newest book by a favorite author, Early Riser by Jasper Fforde. I flipped a bit forward to page 15, so I could share a line:

"There was an intake of breath. It was the mission statement of the Campaign for Real Sleep, sort of a rallying cry."

    Happy Friday!

  10. Happy Friday!
The book I shared this week on my blog is A Changed Agent by Tracey J Lyons. Shockingly I'm not reading a book right now because I finished one last night and was gone all day today. This won't be a reading weekend for me but I'm enjoying a busy weekend with friends and family. Hope you have a great weekend!

  11. Happy Saturday! 😀

Yesterday on my blog, I shared the first few lines from Monstrous Beauty by Carol E. Keen. I'm just really getting into the book, so I'll share another line from that book here:

"Tucking an errant group of hair behind her ear, Annabelle Giles planned out her morning."

Hope you have a great weekend filled with excellent reading time! 😀📚
