First Line Friday - September 29, 2017

It's hard to believe it's Friday again so soon. But since it is...yay! It's "First Line Friday" with lots of book suggestions to look at.

My first line today is from Once Upon a Prince by Rachel Hauck. This book is from 2013 and is the first in Hauck's Royal Wedding Series. I enjoyed the series very much and if you like contemporary romance and reading about commoners becoming royalty, I highly recommend this series!

"What did he say? The storm gusts moving over the Atlantic must have garbled his words. 'I can't marry you.'"

Now it's your turn! Grab the book you are reading or that is closest to you and leave the first line in the comments then head over to the blogs listed below to see what others are sharing this week.

If you are interested in joining the First Line Friday group, contact Carrie at Reading is my Superpower, Rachel at Bookworm Mama, Beth Erin at Faithfully Bookish, or Sydney at Singing Librarian Books.

  1. I enjoyed this series too!

I'm featuring the first line from Melissa Tagg's "All This Time" on my blog this week. I can't believe the Walker Family series is finished! 😭 But here, I'm going to share the first line from Chapter 1 of Toni Shiloh's new release, Returning Home:

Jo Ellen Baker slammed the tailgate of her pickup shut.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. I have a Melissa Tagg book on my shelf waiting to be read - it will be my first book by that author. I can relate to your sadness over the completion of a series. :( Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday! My first line is from Magnolia Storms by Janet Ferguson:
“Fear and loss snaked around Magnolia Marovich’s heart like they always did when she studied the satellite images on the three computer screens in front of her. Not again.”

The line between boy and man was never murkier than when a father died too soo. Leaving his son to walk through the foibles of youth while shouldering the responsibilities of adulthood.
