Review: Love Among the Lilacs by Jenna Victoria

This was a sweet book with a surprising twist that kept me turning the pages to get to the end.

My Thoughts

I was drawn to this book because of the topic. Mollie, the main character, experienced homelessness in her youth, pulls herself up by her bootstraps, and we meet her just as she's buying her first home.

I liked Mollie's character because she demonstrated integrity, determination, and forgiveness. The secondary cast of characters was fun, too. Mollie meets Sean and a nice relationship ensues which is disrupted by a misunderstanding. It was good to watch Sean work through his issues and take responsibility for overreacting in the situation.

There was a scene in the book when Mollie lost her job and the situation worked out perfectly for her which I didn't see coming but I liked it. There was a twist a little more than half way through the book that kept me reading past my bedtime because I wanted to see how it all ended!

There was a good story line, fun cast of characters, and a good plot twist all wrapped up in 174 pages.

I purchased a copy of this book. I was not required to write a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From the Back of the Book

Bookkeeper Mollie Wright knows about living on the streets, and her purchase of sweet Lilac Cottage is a dream come true. She is determined to stay and fight when a legal error puts her ownership at risk.

Attorney Sean Grady never wanted his great-aunts to sell their cottage in Westchester County, New York, so when a paperwork snafu puts the deal on hold, he moves swiftly to evict the pretty, feisty squatter.

Mollie finds unexpected allies in Grady Cove neighbors and a member of Sean's own family but knows the clock is ticking.

Will a theft and her past secrets force a showdown to heartache, or will Mollie and Sean discover home is where your heart is?
